THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS

Berlin, January, 2007. Bad weather. I took the new small Cybershot for an evening-Walk through the "Regierungsviertel". I felt a little depressed - about future and some other things. I thought: "How to become smart with past?" At the "Siegessäule" I took the first picture. It was a colour-picture. The Light was fucking bad. Also the Camera! Collapsing digital Colours and so on! So I changed the modus to black/white. After that I started to use the camera like a short-shooting-toy. No reflections about my doing. I took picture and picture. I didn`t searched something special, I was only interested in structures, lights and details all over the way and so I pulled the trigger. Two times I changed the modus because of a singular idea. Then I arrived at the "Potsdamer Platz". There was an opening of a movie: "The Pursuit of Happyness" - a new movie with Will Smith, a story about an unemployed man and his son. I don`t know why, but I thougt: "What a wonderful sign, what an ironical incidence!" After that I finished the tour by taking some selfportaits and other personal shadows and lights... Back at home I was impressed of the picture`s visuality and melancholic nature - dark, grey, just like the tin shiny tristesse of the january evening itself.
